Adam falls in sync

So far in the lip-syncing phase of my project, things are going well. I actually found an unexpected amount of enjoyment from doing lip-sync. It can be a bit frustrating at times as its sometimes hard to make key-frames for words that are said fast, but overall, I'm having a great time. The two main characters, the teacher and the metal-head are almost done in terms of the lip sync. Next thing on the check list is finishing off their expressions which I'll be most likely doing next week.

Erica's Figuring Out Design

This week I continued building my characters the front and side views. They are coming along quite
nicely. The only things that I found hard to do were the eyes and after you do them a couple of times
you get the hang of it :)

The bodies are also pretty difficult to do trying to get them looking the same but I’ve got it figured out, partially…

Anyways here is a pic of my character building:

A Cody Update

Here’s a picture of one of the storyboard panels
Hello again. Into month 2 at Smiley Guy Studios and things continue to go well. I just finished storyboarding for my animated short, which (on some good advice) I decided to make in Flash. I’ve received a lot of good advice for setting up my scene and characters and general tips for using Flash, so I’m excited to move on to making the animatic. The script has been recorded and the lines are mostly chopped up so I can start timing everything out soon.

Adam Gets Back on Track

After having trouble deciding on which project I should complete, Mike gave me an inspiring talk about finishing assignments and how it affects people in the future.  I have now returned to my original project "The Metal Head" and I truly hope I will get through the harder parts of animating and finishing projects.  I began posing the characters in my scene and I hope to dive deeper in animating next time I'm here!

Erica exercises her acting chops!

This week was AMAZING!  Well this and last week (:D).  Last week I got to do a part in a website about eco friendliness called "Dirt on Green".  I had to ask a question, well 3 questions, about things to do with the environment “Are organic cut flowers better for the environment or a marketing gimmick?”

This week however, I got to do my voice recording for my animation. That was half cool and half awkward…cool part is that I never did anything like this before and I was an amazing experience to go in the room and talk through the microphone and to see how an actual recording room looked. Awkward because I haven’t done anything like this before and well…I just sounded plain weird making those noise mixed in with the sentences (:D). But overall I had fun like I always do!

A Lalo Update!

Since I got back from the winter break, I've been doing some dialogue editing/recording for a couple of episodes of a web-series called "Hair & Mole". One day Paul wasn't here so I did the recording on my own. I also did dialogue editing for Adam's project called "Teacher". If anyone needs voice work, I'm ready to do it!  More recently I've been using a recording device called H4n by the company of ZOOM. I've been using it to record different sound effects in the studio -- door opening and closing, toilet flushing, running water in a sink and other such exciting sounds.

I will be having a Co-op Job Fair presentation at my school soon and I have been taking pictures for my presentation and writing down information about what I do here. Josh also filmed me at work and I'm working on a video which will be part of my presentation. I'll be posting on how the Job Fair goes soon.
